W. Chris Courim
Chris
Courim is co-founder of CarpeDatum Consulting has spent over 20 years of his career
in the analytics, planning, and decision support arenas.
Early on in his career
Chris worked as a financial analyst/manager in the investment management,
manufacturing, and publishing industries, where he built a variety of
forecasting and reporting systems. In the early 90's, Chris was recruited
by MCI to manage financial planning & analysis for the $7.5 billion
consumer division of the telecommunications provider. Chris spent several
years using and developing sophisticated planning and reporting
applications designed to integrate all aspects of the business. In his
most recent role at MCI, Chris was responsible for data warehousing and
decision support where he developed a series of very powerful analytic
applications designed to support sales, marketing, and finance.
Chris's background as
business manager and developer of business intelligence systems, has made
him a successful consultant with engagements at nationally and
internationally recognized companies. Chris has been a speaker at various
OLAP and financial forecasting conferences. Chris has a master's degree in
Finance from the University of Denver.
Steven Garno
Prior to founding CarpeDatum Inc in 1998, Steven
Garno, Executive Technical Staff for MCI WorldCom, was the chief
architect and team leader for a multi-platform corporate wide
revenue planning and decision support system. At MCI, he
designed, implemented and automated large scale data mart using
Sybase IQ, SQL Server and TM1 to provide rapid and accurate revenue
reporting and real-time budgeting and forecasting for a $7Bln
company. Since then, Steven has been the key technical &
project lead for enterprise business intelligence applications for a
number of companies including Visa, Hewlett Packard, Agilent,
General Motors, BP Amoco, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Maxtor and
Richmond American Homebuilders.
Steve graduated from the University of Arizona in Tucson with a BSEE degree in
Electrical and Computer Engineering with a minor in mathematics and
computer software development. He is a Certified Microsoft
Professional for SQL Server as well as a number of other OLAP and
Business Intelligence technologies.
Rocke Ellis
Before joining CarpeDatum in the Fall of
2000, Rocke Ellis served as a Business and Forecast Analyst for
Hewlett-Packard and Agilent Technologies. Rocke played critical roles in
OLAP implementation projects for both the Demand Capacity Planning group
for semiconductor manufacturing and the ArctiCooler Cooling Solutions
Product group. His education includes a MBA from Colorado State University
as well as undergraduate degrees in Business Management and Secondary
Education from Northern Arizona University. Rocke was a featured speaker
at both the Semiconductor Supply Chain Association (SSCA) Spring 2000
Forecasting Conference and the ApplixWorld 2000 Conference. |
