Product Line Profitability and Reporting
Windsor Industries had previously implemented an OLAP financial analysis and reporting system using TM1 multidimensional OLAP server software. Now, Windsor aimed to use their existing TM1 OLAP software and develop a product line profitability reporting system and selected CarpeDatum assist them.
CarpeDatum helped deliver a new system created with financial data sourced from Windsor's existing sales history and GL databases. This data, now driven by business rules and processes, allows analysts the ability to quickly and easily assess the profitability of individual products. Additionally, the system provides detailed sales reporting, flexible cost allocation, and detailed financial data. Decreased analysis times and greater reporting flexibility substantially improved the visibility into the business.
By providing Windsor employees with the training necessary to maintain the application, they also gained the ability to augment its functionality for the future. Throughout the development process CarpeDatum consultants worked with Windsor employees to transition knowledge and provide valuable hands on training.
